I must give our girl Rihanna credit, because as much as she can’t put an outfit together, she looks great in every bikini I’ve ever seen her in! This is no exception. RiRi’s been on vacation in Hawai’i and this silver and mesh one piece is a head turner!

I’m personally LOVING this suit and it’s strategically placed silver metallic fabric. Turns out its by Norma Kamali, who apparently also designs for Wal-Mart. This suit is priced at $350, which is well worth the cost if you have this bikini body by summer!

So my advice for RiRi is, stick to swimwear, because you’re killin em!

It’s hard to believe January is more than half way over, I still hear the clinking of champagne flutes as I rang in the New Year! This month is flying by, but this was a Style Shout Out I didn’t want to pass up! Our good friend and DC resident Dani tells us about her NYE outfit below. Dani B.’s Style Inspiration

“Unlike last year when I went day of shopping for a NYE party this year I already had an outfit. I’d actually gotten it months before with the intention of wearing it to Mia’s birthday party in NYC but I ended up not being able to go and another friend suggested I save it for NYE. So that’s what I did.

I’m a big fan of separates because you can always revamp an outfit by changing any one of the elements. The first thing I found was the skirt and immediately fell in love. So I built the outfit around that.  I knew I wanted a black top but thought that would be a bit predictable so I also looked for a blazer too, something a little different that would complement the skirt and complete the look but not be too over the top. I found a few blazers I liked but fell in love with this one when I saw the tangerine option. Then I decided to look for hosiery and found these back seam ones with little diamond studs. This took me all of maybe an hour.  Once I had the idea in my head I knew what I was looking for and I was able to find it all pretty fast. I then put together this mock up of what it I thought it would look like and sent it to a couple of my girls for feedback.

I randomly found the shoes at a small shop after Christmas and had to have them. I also decided to go with pearl accessories.  I’ve been into pearls a lot lately because of they are so classic and great for everyday so I stuck with that but just a little more glam.  As for makeup I went for a kind of smokey eye in grays and black with a red lip.

So it’s already the 13th day of 2012, but this outfit RiRi rocked in Miami NYE is STILL haunting us. (But hey, she looks great compared to the chick behind her!)

Maybe BECAUSE it’s Friday the 13th. First of all, she spent NYE at a party thrown by Diddy in MIAMI. SO WHY do you have on a matronly long black lace frock? Sure, its Tom Ford, but it’s NYE in Miami, not Omaha.  Obviously she did her own hair (I use the term “did” as loosely as that high pony on her head)… and those shoes! I’m sure they cost more than I’d pay, and are probably from some latest designer collection, but they look like my 8th grade graduation pumps, and not in a “let me find those overalls because they’re coming back in style” kind of way. So Ri. You’ve GOT to re-hire your stylist, because this is getting out of control. Let’s all do better in 2012. Thanks.

So with all the reality tv drama, from catfights to proposals and all the REAL drama from births to Blue babies, we’re more than ready for some old fashion tv. The Game is back for season 5 tonight on BET.

This is the second season since the show moved to BET, and there are lots of apprehensive fans, because season 4 wasn’t all it was anticipated to be. BUT, the show has stepped up on the wardrobe front, so I’m excited to see what the cast will be wearing this time around.

Here’s a shot of the cast on 106 & Park and I’m loving the fur vest and shorts combo Tia is rocking (not practical for anything but a tv appearance, but cute nonetheless).

I’ve been saying for at least two years now that my favorite thing about kids these days are their sense of personal style. The younger generation is way more in-tune with fashion than I was at that age, and it’s definitely appreciated. Home for Christmas I was able to see my younger cousins, and my cousin Cameron did not disappoint. This particular day he had on skinny corduroy, black button down, tie, cardigan and his signature DC skater sneaks. Then this briefcase! It was so full of gadgets he could barely close it! I am proud to be related to someone who’s got such a sense of personal style at such a young age, and the confidence to pull it off!

I asked Cam if he saw that look in a magazine and he said, no, it’s just something I put together! Impressive! So let’s support the younger generation, whatever their style is, so they can grow up to be confident in all they do as adults!
