Sidenote: I really wanted these earrings from J. Crew but they were almost $100 – way out of my budget, especially given the trendy feel of the neon/rhinestone combo. I stumbled upon these beauties you see me modeling in the post at H&M for a tenth of the price

Lesson: Don’t jump on every trend, but ESPECIALLY don’t delve into high priced trendy items before surveying the merchandise at discount retailers. You can probably find something comparable for a fraction of the price.
