My latest style crush has been Selita Ebanks. I have been loving her and everything she does (and wears) lately. She can go from suuuuuper classic to fun and funky and even boho chic. She covered all the bases this past week alone, and I consider that comparable to my own style, because as much as I like to do my fun trendy fashions, I love to fall back on classic, timeless pieces like the trench she rocks below.
A trench is an absolute staple and can turn you from drab to Jackie O. on a rainy day. Don’t limit your trench to just rainy days, though. It’s a perfect spring-weight coat. Here’s my own take on the classic trench:
On BET’s Rip the Runway last week, Selita rocked this killer hot pink tennis dress by designer LaQuan Smith.
We have seen this dress several times before on Cassie and Nicki Minaj, but Selita kicks hers up about four notches with some insane Melody Ehsani accessories, including my faves that I’m itching to buy, the See Me Parrot Earrings.
I loved her makeup so much here that I tried to recreate the look myself this past weekend.
For a day of shopping at Rebecca Taylor Meatpacking District store, Selita Ebanks – pictured below with Tika Sumpter of Gossip Girl and BET’s The Game – does boho some serious justice.
Super cute but also cool and casual. I also love Tika’s animal prints maxi and large wool hat. Both girls rocked it. I also love that Selita recycled her nude Christian Louboutins from the Rip the Runway look for her boho shopping look. Just goes to show how versatile some pieces can be and how to get the most mileage on staple pieces, like the nude pump, for example. Looking forward to what Selita steps out in next!
